The ASCEND Youth Enrichment ProgramSM (ASCENDSM) is our educational enrichment program and stands for Achievement, Self- Awareness, Communication, Engagement, Networking and Developmental Skills.

This program was devised to motivate, engage, and assist high school students, both male and female in grades 9th through 12th in reaching their maximum potential. Participating scholars meet monthly for three-hours commencing in September and graduating in June. There is no program cost for scholars.

ASCENDSM also focuses on core competencies which include: Team Building, Networking, College Exploration, Career Exploration, United Nations (Partnership with Africare and the Global Classrooms Project), Community Service, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), and SMART (Science, Math, and related technologies).

The goal of the program is to assist, equip and prepare these scholars to better transition to college life, a specialized vocation, military, or obtain meaningful employment in the workplace.

Our program is also integrated with our Education Component - Think HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities). The Think HBCU component introduces and provides awareness about the value of attending an HBCU. Our scholars will also have the opportunity to attend a local HBCU College Fair during The Circle City Classic.
